Our Journal focuses primarily on sharing precious snippets of the millennia-old art of keeping time, the centuries-old art of watchmaking, and the rich culture surrounding timepieces. We may not be on top of the latest industry gossip, but we will always strive to tell interesting stories and share authentic, unfiltered, and uncensored opinions. We may not have access to the latest releases or fancy press events, but we keep a keen eye on the past, present, and future of watches.

Watch-collecting is one of the nerdiest passions on earth, and we wear that distinction proudly. It’s a hobby where a chance encounter over a cool watch can spiral into a conversation about art history, mechanical engineering, or even theoretical physics. That’s why a solid understanding of horological fundamentals goes a very long way.

But for all its depth and ubiquity, watch knowledge itself is scattered, uneven, and often buried in obscure forms. There doesn’t seem to be a unified source that approaches horology with the structure and seriousness it deserves. We created the Hurum Repository to change that.

The Repository is a comprehensive, evolving encyclopedia of watch knowledge - where we gather fragmented knowledge to organize, clarify, and democratize it. It’s divided into six sections: Art, History, Mechanics, Taxonomy, Performance, and Functions. Entries are updated regularly.

It’s always helpful to have a trusty field manual at hand. Despite being a global passion with hundreds of millions of enthusiasts, the watch world lacks accessible, reliable guides for newcomers and casual collectors. It can take months or years of consuming watch content to fully get up to speed.

Our Handbooks are designed to change that. Each Handbook is crafted to be clear, intuitive, and accurate. Wherever possible, we include hand-drawn illustrations to make the reading experience even more pleasant and approachable.

Closest to our hearts is the Beginner’s Handbook - the guide we wish we had when we first stumbled into the watch world. We stand on the shoulders of many glossaries that came before us, but cover all corners of watch world jargon from the most technical terms to vulgar nicknames and obscenities.
